Hey. Do you still remember what your childhood was like? I do.

I remember the times that I would wake up, and it would still be dark, and see a blanket of snow outside. A spark of joy would light within me, as I relished the thought of not having to go to school.

I remember the times when I would get up early in the morning, and sneak downstairs with my sister to watch the early morning cartoons before my parents woke up.

I remember the times when I would go to sleep thinking that I was in another world, where I could fly on clouds and fall through the sky without fear of dying.

I remember spending all those moments with my family... at the time I didn't think much of it... now I realize, having left them behind, that they were worth more to me than I could possibly imagine...

I remember our family's first house -- while it was small and modest, there was a certain magic to it, and I recall every detail with longing. I wish I could see it again...

I remember when I used to have bad dreams, and couldn't fall asleep at night because I was scared that there was something under my bed.

I remember this mountain near our house -- at the time, it seemed so large to my younger self. It would take me forever to climb it. Years later, I went back expecting to see the same mountain, only to find a small hill.

I remember the first time I realized that life has an end -- I cried the entire night and went to my father, who hugged and comforted me for the longest time.

I remember the time when I saw the sun rise, and when I looked outside the window I saw the meeting of night and dawn, where the horizon seemed to extend forever and the earth seemed to have no boundaries. Much like the horizon, my future seemed full of hope, boundless, and infinite. I had no idea what kind of life would lay ahead of me... that uncertainty, that innocence, I yearn for it.

Maybe I haven't had the kind of experiences that are worthy of being written about in a biography, or a film, but nevertheless, they strike me powerfully, and weigh on my mind eternally.

I am still young right now. And I have an entire future ahead of me. There are still so many more memories that I must collect.

But I know that as time passes through my veins, and the years fly by without pause, these childhood memories will only get stronger, and become more meaningful.

I dunno, there is something about those guys that allways makes me go back to them no matter what. Roger Plant energic use of his voice is superb, Jimmy Page's unique guitar play (considered one of the best), John Bonham kewl drums and the multi talented bassist John Paul Jones, this band was made of some of the greatest talents in music history.
Also, there is something unique about almost all of their songs. All of their work is energic and I think all their songs (I've listened to so far) have touched me in a way very few bands have been able to.

Genuine band whose lyrical and melodic talents are matched by few. Complex music (psychadelic and progressive rock), but the moment you start enjoying their music, you will love them forever and ever. Even my mom likes them.

I'm not sure if it's a favourite. I dunno. Anyways, Metallica marks a change in my music taste, when I started to explore harder and more extreme rock compared to what I've been listening to before (hard rock (e.g. Led Zeppelin), progressive (e.g. Pink Floyd). Considered as one legends of thrash metall, they are indeed interesting when you've finally catched up to their complex music. Note though, that it is their 4-5 first albums that I find really interesting, because those albums contents long, complex, melodic, guitar driven songs with long solos. I personally prefers that kind of music opposed to short but repitive songs.
In short: Metallica is really important to me because they're my first real step inside the realm of more extreme metall compared to hard rock and/or anything softer.

Are they qualified to make it to my top 5 list? I dunno, lol. I like them, I don't think there is anything else to it. I liked them in the past, but then I'd hardly listened to any of their songs. Then I found out they're a rock band (60s rock). Then I liked them even more.
Seriously, who doesn't like the Beatles. That was not a question.

I just recently made a thread about them, avant-garde metall, have only released two albums, I found them about a week ago. I wouldn't rank them as high as Led Zeppelin/Pink Floyd, but their music is complex (suits me good) and the are interesting, I like them. I suggest you check them out. Now.
