i doubt pendragon would make a statement that would hurt his image in any way if it was a lie. see where i'm going? he has more to lose tham morality. he lost that already.

I will go to first topic.

Tbh i don't think that if HoN was more origianl ppl wouldn't think about it as DotA copy. It's simple as that. Look at how LoL ended. If u ask (as i e.g. did in my blog) ppl will answer it's lame copy of dota, altough it's totally different AoS type game. There is nothing similar to dota. Heroes are unique and different u have summoners spells etc, the map is different to, same as powerups, there are absolutely different in system of aggro or items. Plus u have idea of summoners "tech trees" like in wow hence lvling summoner. Etc etc etc. But when u ask ppl still think about it as DotA copy. (btw in my pool it was 60% of ppl that tought this - i haven't posted my vote) I think there is only one thing same as DotA... one map that have same shape when we talk about lane's have towers in it and something that if u destroy u will have stronger creep on that lane.... like in ton of others AoS type maps.

All of the above information can be found using google and making assumptions based on the obtained information (ie he lists his employer as Marc Deforest, thus he is employed by S2)

dota was pretty much financed by s2 for 2 years, and OMYGAD icefrog actually helped coding and stuff ?! how come hon has dota heroes ?! unoriginal stealers

and pendragon confirmed this at dota-allstars.com, so i dunno if you don't trust him but i consider all of the above text + pendragon proof enough

it is far easier to be an internal betatester in hon, the forum for it is really easy to get to and has all the information about changes, online time etc

I somehow missed this during the two weeks I was on vacation, and the thread did seem to be dead again, but I can't help wanting to give my take on it:

Emperor was, as he states, amongst a group of American DotA-players (including other old NA-players such as D.O.G.Kaiser) who visited the Riot Games studios and were to share their input and thoughts on how to improve and even take League of Legends to another level. To me, however, it all seemed like a minor marketing-scheme where Riot Games were able to publish pictures of these players visiting their studio and further improving the idea of LoL being developed by some great minds behind or in DotA thus trying to give rest of the community the impression that even the 'professional' DotA-players were in on League of Legends and that it was only a matter of time before it would be every DotA-player's game of choice.

I've met Emperor and I always considered him a smart guy. In this matter, though, he seems terribly biased and might have a blured vision by being offered an all-expenses paid weekend in L.A. with his Dota-friends and being treated as a true sportsman and expert on the subject. The same people who treated him this way, Riot Games, would then 'leak' bits of information on who Icefrog is, what he has alledgedly done and how incredibly "ridiculous" they thought his demands to be.

Would you believe the words of someone befriending you this way; Treating your friends and you to a week in L.A., insisting your oppinion matters to them and they even let you in on a sworn secret? Probably.

Riot Games threw a tournament in Hannover last year, at the Gamescom convention, and they were treating the players to a night out with a bit of beer etcetera and were truthfully being really nice guys. The same bits of information were leaked to some of us players, maybe not as detailed, but they still tried to force an impression on us of Icefrog being a greedy guy who had actually lied to them about his education. Mark, having gone to MIT himself, insisted Icefrog had never been enrolled there despite "new evidence" now seems to contradict this claim.

I'm fairly convinced Riot Games and some of the forces behind Heroes of Newerth, perhaps not S2 Games directly itself, are somewhat scheming together inorder to make Icefrog's modesty seem less legit thus getting people to their side of the table. And I'll explain why.

It is largely known that Heroes of Newerth has a tight relationship to Peregrine, the gaming glove company. What is less known is that Emperor is working for Peregrine and is to the best of my knowledge responsible for marketing the glove. Heroes of Newerth and therefore S2 Games being one of their biggest assets in doing so.

So it's safe to assume that Emperor has some sort of relationship to both these companies:

Emperor visiting Riot Games and befriending Pendragon (confirmed).
Emperor working for Peregrine thus allying himself with S2 Games (confirmed).

Emperor breaks this article releasing "shocking accusations" based on nothing but hearsay (confirmed).
Pendragon closing down D-A.com and releasing a statement with "shocking accusations" around the same time (confirmed).

S2 Games <-> Riot Games in cooperation of slandering Icefrog alas jeopardizing his future project, DotA 2, funded by the much, much larger game developer Valve (rumored by Maelk).

In closing I must confess that I am a die-hard Icefrog-follower and my opinion and view on the matter is no doubt biased. However, in my best attempt to look on the matter objectively I still reach the same conclusion: This is all about money and nothing to do with neither Emperor or Pendragon suddenly being the forthbringers of clarity.
